What is the Talk Dirty dance, and can you do it without learning it?
The Talk Dirty dance is a short stage routine to Jason Derulo's 2013 song "Talk Dirty": a lead walks on, drops into a low crouch under a spotlight and ends in deep squats with a crew of dancers while flames fire. AI Talk Dirty puts the person from your photo in the lead role, so you can join in without learning it or hiring a crew. The generator above is preset to Come As You Are.
What does the routine look like?
The clips that started the wave run about 15 seconds and follow the same order every time. The table gives the timings of the stage take our videos follow.
| Time | Beat | What happens |
|---|---|---|
| 0.0–1.0s | Walk-on | Wide shot in the dark: the lead walks on in the middle of the crew. |
| 1.0–2.4s | Lights | The stage lights snap on and the big screen spells TALK, then DIRTY behind the lead, now alone at the front. |
| 2.4–3.5s | Spotlight | A single white spotlight from above; the lead drops into a low crouch and grooves on bent knees. |
| 3.5–7.0s | Flames | Flame jets fire along the stage front as the crew steps in behind and the lead side-steps on the beat. |
| 7.0–12.5s | The crew | Tight group shot: the lead and the whole crew in the same knee-bend routine, the screen flashing the title. |
| 12.5–15.0s | Finale | Deep squats in unison, flames bursting overhead, the lead front and centre on the last beat. |
Nothing in it needs much skill. The look comes from the staging: the dark opening, the sudden lights, the crew in matching jackets and the flames. That is also what a living room cannot copy.
Was there a Talk Dirty dance challenge before the AI clips?
Yes. A Talk Dirty dance challenge was already on TikTok in 2023, and YouTube compilations of it still exist. It is a separate thing from the 2026 AI wave, which began on 17 October 2026 with clips that swap a new person into the stage footage. The two share the song and little else. For where the AI version came from, see the trend explained.
Why do people want to be the lead without learning it?
Because the appeal is the entrance, not the footwork. Viewers watch a friend, a parent or a colleague walk onto a concert stage in their own clothes and take the front spot. Learning a routine to do that would take days and still leave you without lights, flames or a crew. A generated clip gets the joke across in one take and gives people something to share.
How to join with one photo
Upload one clear photo in the generator above and tap generate. Come As You Are keeps the clothes and hair from your photo; the other 5 looks on the dances page change the outfit. You get a 15-second MP4 with the trend sound already mixed in and no watermark. Pricing is on its own page.
Limits worth knowing
The opening shot is wide and dark, so your face is small for the first second. In crowded crew shots faces and hands can blur, and the backup dancers are made up and differ from take to take.
